Our viral isolates
The biorepository has 105 HIV-1 primary isolates, of which a 38% is from patients with acute or recent infection, a 48% from newly diagnosed HIV patients, a 15% from patients with chronic HIV infection and a remaining 4% from patients for whose infection there is no available information at the moment.

These HIV isolates incorporate the following associated data:
- Donor’s country of birth
- HIV infection route
- Infection stage
- Viral tropism
- Viral sub-type
- Information regarding mutations
- Information regarding resistance
- Phenotypic information
- Date of virus isolation
- Viral material production date
- Time the viral isolate has been frozen, its temperature and freezing-defrosting cycles.
- Replication kinetics
- Viral isolate’s source sample type
Additionally, the biobank has 10 R5 HIV-1 founding clones. These clones incorporate the following associated data:
- Donor’s country of birth
- Donor’s gender
- HIV infection route
- Viral tropism
- Virus LTR structure data
- Plasmid used for clonation
- Host bacteria
